research inspiration
My approach to research is collaborative and transdisciplinary. I’m interested designing around the diversity of our communities to help create inclusive health and care experiences. My work focuses on improving patient experiences, supporting healthcare providers, and exploring new ways to integrate health into everyday life. I’m particularly passionate about women’s health, focusing my research on overlooked issues and advancing inclusivity and equity through a feminist lens.
I am an Assistant Professor with UCD’s School of Computer Science, where my research is at the intersection of human-computer interaction, health and mental health care. I founded the Inclusive Design for Health and Care group (ID-Care), bringing together researchers whose works explore how human-centred design can help shape inclusive health and care experiences. My work to date has focused on sensitive health topics, with over 7 years of experience in the field. My research interests include quality of care, women’s healthcare, feminist technology design, and design justice. I hold a PhD in HCI from Trinity College Dublin, and a MSc in HCI and a BSc in Computer Science from Université Toulouse III.
