what made me join ucd
The work on different aspects of human-computer interaction, be it from a psycholinguistic or computer science perspective, caught my attention. The link with the ADAPT Centre was an additional pull factor.
My work focuses on fine phonetic detail of spoken interaction between humans and computers with the aim of making this information usable for the further development of voice-activated digital assistants.
CURRENT RESEARCH
We investigate state-of-the-art automatic speech recognition (ASR) models to identify phonetic information in their embeddings. This contributes to the interpretability of said models and has applications in inclusive speech recognition.
